SREB Goals for Education:
Challenge to Lead

Adopted in 2002, SREB’s 12 Challenge to Lead Goals for Education set a powerful agenda for our region: SREB states can lead the nation in educational progress. These goals challenge schools, colleges and universities to achieve excellence. They challenge state leaders and policy-makers to provide the support needed to succeed. And they demand accountability for results.

SREB measures and reports on progress toward each goal. We monitor the trends and indicators that tell us if our 16 member states are on track, and we equip state government and education leaders with the information they need to work cooperatively toward long-term solutions. For details, see SREB’s reports on specific goals, progress reports for each state, presentations to legislators and other information below, or click on Publications.
