Scholar Profiles
The SREB-State Doctoral Scholars Program was created in 1993 to
address the long-standing national shortage of minority faculty. The program's
approach is to provide an unprecedented level of support to help scholars
persist through the stages of graduate study, obtain Ph.D.s and secure faculty
positions. The program strives to be "more than a check and a
handshake."
More than 80 percent of our graduates have gone on to careers as
administrators, faculty or postdoctoral researchers on college and university
campuses. The following are profiles of some graduates.
