Dr. Daniel Jean was raised in abject poverty who rose from a 1.9 grade point average to become an author, consultant, motivational speaker, swagger trainer, playwright, poet. He has graced the cover of Diverse Issues in Higher Education twice and was recently featured on PBS NewsHour for his role in improving outcomes for black and latino identified males. He has also been featured/mentioned in the LA Times, NJ.com, Black Enterprise, Ebony Magazine, and the Hechinger Report. He is the CEO of Wordstravel LLC a consulting, edutainment and empowerment agency providing services in undergraduate and grad scholar recruitment/retention/graduation, strategic planning, value/identity development, professional growth planning, outcome formation and performance enhancement. Dr. Jean is the #524 graduate of the SREB Institute for Faculty Teaching and Mentoring.
