AI in Education Insights, monthly newsletter on artificial intelligence in education, now available online

The Southern Regional Education Board’s monthly newsletter on insights, resources and more from the SREB Commission on AI in Education has a new home under the Newsletters section of the SREB website.

AI in Education Insights is designed to share news from the commission meetings, interviews with commission members and SREB reports and data of interest.

The newsletter is available by email subscription. The most recent edition, now posted on the SREB website, includes:

  • 5 Takeaways from the Commission’s June Meeting
  • An SREB video on success skills and AI
  • A podcast about AI tools for lesson planning
  • A state-by-state guide to AI policy in the 16 SREB states

Subscribe to AI in Education Insights

Chaired by South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster and co-chaired by Brad D. Smith, president of Marshall University in West Virginia and a former Silicon Valley CEO, the SREB Commission on AI in Education consists of more than 60 policymakers, education leaders and business executives from each of SREB’s 16 states.   

The commission is charged with reviewing research and industry data and hearing from experts to develop recommendations for Southern states to lead in:  

  • Using AI in teaching and learning, K-12 and postsecondary 
  • Developing related policies for K-12 schools, colleges and universities 
  • Preparing students for careers in AI  

Media are invited to contact SREB to arrange interviews with Pruitt or commission members about the work of the commission and topics in AI in education.
