Mississippi Administrators and Teachers: What do you think about PGS?
Make your voice heard by participating in a focus group.
What is the purpose of the focus groups?
The Mississippi Department of Education (MDE) wants to learn about educators’ experiences implementing the new professional growth and evaluation system, PGS. What is going well with the new rubric, guidance materials and trainings? What is not going well? What do principals and teachers wish the state knew?
Additionally, MDE wants to learn what educators think about the use of student surveys for non-evaluative purposes.
Feedback gathered during focus groups will be used to help inform future state policies and implementation.
Who should come to the focus groups?
Any Mississippi administrator or teacher who uses PGS is encouraged to attend.
Who will conduct the focus groups?
The Southern Regional Education Board’s educator effectiveness team will conduct all focus group sessions. The Southern Regional Education Board (SREB) is an impartial third party — we will synthesize educator feedback and provide MDE with important takeaways and recommendations for next steps.
When and where will the focus groups be held?
