How can schools, colleges and businesses partner to give students relevant career pathways and learning experiences in the workplace?

SREB’s Commission on Strategic Business Partnerships for Work-Ready Students heard promising practices from Virginia and other states at its meeting this month in Richmond. Educators and industry reps said that finding their way into one another’s world is the most difficult and important foundation of strategic partnerships.

“We all want the same things, so let’s get in a room together and make it happen,” said an energy industry workforce recruiter.

The Commission will publish a report with essential elements of effective career pathways, promising practices and recommendations.
