American Counseling Association, Mental Health Resources To help professional counselors and the public, the American Counseling Association offers an array of free resources in dealing with anxiety, depression, grief and loss, violence, substance abuse, trauma and other mental health issues.

National Institute of Mental Health Resources for anyone who may be struggling emotionally or has concerns about their mental health, including information on finding a local mental healthcare provider.

Mental Health America provides information and resources on how to live mentally healthy, cope with COVID-19 and find support when it is needed.

National Alliance on Mental Health Dedicated to improving the quality of life of those affected by mental illness, the association provides information on types of mental health disorders, the signs and symptoms of mental health conditions, treatment options and how to find local help.

National 24/7 Crisis Services

National Suicide Prevention Lifeline: (800) 273-TALK (8255). If a student is experiencing a mental health crisis, caring staff will connect them with the closest possible crisis center in their area.

Crisis Text Line: Text HOME to 741741. The Crisis Text Line serves anyone in any type of crisis. Trained counselors will respond and help.

Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration: (800) 622-HELP (4357) provides free and confidential treatment referral and information. 

The Trevor Project: (866) 488-7386 or text START to 678-678. LGBTQIA+ kids and teens can reach out to The Trevor Project for support during a crisis, if they are feeling suicidal or need a safe space to talk about any issue.

National Domestic Violence Hotline: (800) 799-SAFE (7233). Anyone who is experiencing domestic violence or abuse, as well as anyone concerned about a family member, can call the National Domestic Violence Hotline. 

YouthLine: Text teen2teen to 839863 or call (877) 968-8491. YouthLine provides a safe space for young adults ages 11 to 21 to talk through any issues they may be facing, including eating disorders, relationship or family concerns, bullying, sexual identity, depression, self-harm, anxiety and thoughts of suicide.

National Runaway Safeline: 1-800-Runaway (786-2929) or text: 66008. Safeline is for homeless youth or youth who are at risk of becoming homeless.

National Association on Mental Health. 1-800-950-NAMI (6264) or text NAMI to 741-741. NAMI is free, nationwide peer-support service providing information, resource referrals and support to people living with mental health conditions, their family members and caregivers, mental health providers and the public.
