SREB HBCU-MSI Collaborative

Overview

SREB HBCU-MSI Collaborative

The HBCU-MSI Collaborative builds strategic partnerships with historically Black colleges and universities and other minority-serving institutions in higher education throughout the 16-state region. Working with state agencies, education leaders and philanthropic organizations, this SREB group pursues ways to increase capacity and competitiveness among these institutions.

Early efforts include a program to prepare HBCU students for STEM doctoral education and ways to share online courses among member institutions.

The collaborative’s executive committee:

  • Roslyn Clark Artis, President, Benedict College, Co-Chair
  • Larry Robinson, President, Florida A & M University, Co-Chair
  • Derek Gilmore, Executive Vice President, Stillman College
  • Charles Gibbs, Chief of Staff & Vice President for University Affairs, Clark Atlanta University

The SREB HBCU-MSI Collaborative is supported with funding from the higher education division of Educational Testing Service.
