What is the issue and why is it important?
Maintain a regular state-level review of technology-related policies on education standards, access and infrastructure to ensure these policies are adequate, necessary and integrated.
The SREB Educational Technology Cooperative has identified 10 current education technology issues that it recommends policymakers in SREB states address now. The Cooperative set out a 10 Education Technology Issues process, K-20 in scope, to help states understand these policy issues and create an action agenda to address them.
The intent of the 10 Issues process is to create a policy environment to improve education in SREB states — one that leverages technology to support the efforts of instructional staff, support staff, education leaders and policy-makers to serve students. Then SREB states will be able to address their highest educational priorities more effectively.
We will be answering these questions:
- What is the issue and why is it important?
- What is the status in SREB states?
- What if SREB states do not make adequate progress on this issue?
- What measurements can SREB states use to assess progress?
- What are some next steps SREB states can take?
- Where can I learn more?
